Sustainable Manufacturing

O&S Doors is situated in the beautiful countryside of Benburb Co. Tyrone, for this reason it is extremely important that we take the necessary steps to ensure that our 410,000 sq ft state of the art production facility operates as environmentally sustainable as possible.

Here at O&S Doors Benburb, we have a zero waste to landfill policy which means that all our cardboard, plastics, foils and general waste is recycled. Once all our waste is collected, it is then sold to a company that uses our waste to make reusable bottles, storage boxes and other household items.

All the raw materials that we purchase for manufacturing our kitchen doors, cabinet frontals and panels are sourced from certified, sustainably managed forests only. This means that trees are replanted as soon as they are cut down. We hold certificates from the (FSC®) Forest Stewardship Council® and also the (PEFC) Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification to ensure that we are purchasing our raw materials from ethically managed forests.

Our Environmental Officer and HSEQ Manager work together with company directors to ensure that our environmental standards are being
maintained and to ensure that we are making steps in the right direction for the future of sustainable manufacturing.

We believe that as an organization, with growth there is increased social responsibility. We aim to do everything that we can to preserve, recycle and reuse everything that runs through our production facility.

Our strategic sustainability goal is to preserve natural resources as much as possible for the future of manufacturing.

Enjoy your Easter break

What a week we’ve had here at O&S Doors. 🐣

On Tuesday our offices organized among themselves a great Easter bake off. Each department baked cakes and treats in their own time and shared them over tea and coffee on their morning break.

It looks like we have some fantastic bakers on our team.

Then, we had the incredible team from J Hutton and Sons to serve breakfast baps as a treat for all 350 staff at our factory in Benburb before we break for the Easter holidays.

Our team in Manchester celebrated with hot sausage rolls which went down a treat.

Our team in Santry and Clondalkin celebrated with breakfast rolls and other treats for lunch.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff for their hard work in Q1 and we hope you enjoy some well deserved time off at Easter. 🐰
